The Living Wage Champion Awards celebrate the individuals and organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to the Living Wage movement. DUSA was shortlisted in the Retail and Hospitality champion category in 2023 and It is truly amazing to be shortlisted again this year. In 2023, the award ceremony was held at the National Football Museum in Manchester.
The Real Living Wage is the hourly rate that is calculated by the Living Wage Foundation on the actual cost of living in the UK. It is higher than the government’s minimum wage and is designed to ensure that workers can meet the cost of living.
DUSA has been accredited by the Living Wage Foundation since October 2020 and has been shortlisted for a Living Wage Champion Award, in the Retail & Hospitality Champion Category by Living Wage Foundation. Organisations that pay the Real Living Wage are committed to providing a fair wage to their employees and positively impacting the wider economy. By getting fair pay, employees feel motivated and valued, resulting in productivity and better work-life balance.
This accreditation is a testament to our commitment to promoting fair pay for our employees. In doing this, we have made a public commitment to paying our employees a wage that reflects the cost of living and DUSA has implemented new policies to ensure that this commitment is upheld.
“I am delighted and honoured that DUSA has been shortlisted for the Living Wage Champion Awards under the hospitality category. This recognition not only reflects our dedication to providing exceptional service but also our commitment to the well-being of our staff. We believe in investing in our people and being acknowledged for our efforts is truly heartwarming.” – Claire Lornie, Head of Operations (Hospitality and Events).
The final judging will take place on 9th May and the winners and shortlistees will be invited to join the ceremony in Cardiff on 11th July.
