How to make a nomination for Rector in 2025.

To make a nomination for Rector you must

  • Be a current student of the University.
  • Have the support of at least 49 other current students of the University.
  • Have the agreement of the person you want to nominate.

You need to provide the names and student ID numbers of at least 50 current students (including yours). You can use the Nomination Form for this.

Students are not allowed to support more than one nomination.

You need to obtain the written permission of the person you want to nominate. You can use the Acceptance of Nomination Form for this.

 

You cannot nominate

  • someone who is a current member of staff of the University
  • someone who is a current student at Dundee or any other University
  • someone who has already been Rector twice before

 

How to use the Acceptance of Nomination Form

You can send the Acceptance of Nomination Form to the person you wish to nominate and ask them to confirm that they accept the nomination by signing the form and returning it to you. You can then email the form to senateadmin@dundee.ac.uk

 

How to use the nomination form

On each row of the form you need to type in the name and student ID number of the 50 supporters who are supporting the nomination.

Once you have filled in 50 rows of the form with the names and student ID numbers of 50 different students who are supporting the nomination you should email the form to senateadmin@dundee.ac.uk

Deadline for Submission

The Forms need to be submitted by 10 March 2025. Each Form will be checked by the Returning Officers and if the Forms are valid the nomination will be confirmed by email to you and the person you have nominated.
