About our Retail Team
The Retail Services department operates two retail stores and as Café on and off campus with the aim to provide the students with the finest quality, best value products and services, served in a stimulating and well-maintained environment.
The role of Retail Assistant within this department involves all the duties of a shop operation, from cleaning and replenishing shelves, serving customers, and delivering high standards of customer service.
This role is predominantly based at our Premier Store, although at other times you may be required to work in one of our other outlets. Full training will be given.
The Role
To serve customers, taking payment by cash and card and giving change
Using tills, scanners and manual inputs to record sales
To fill shelves, rotating stock to ensure dates are current
To receive deliveries, checking address details and delivery notes
To ensure compliance with HACCP documentation, risk assessments and health and safety regulations
To be responsible for the general hygiene and tidiness of customer areas
To build and maintain effective working relationships whilst promoting our culture and values
To assist staff from other departments as required and any other duties that may reasonably be expected by the Retail Services Manager
The Person
Qualifications/Knowledge/Experience
Previous experience desirable but not essential.
Hours of Work
Hourly Pay
This is an hourly paid role and is remunerated at £12.21 per hour. No additional payments or allowances and no contractual entitlement to overtime.
Holiday Pay
12.07% holiday pay (accrued on hours worked).
