DUSA Exec statement on Supreme Court ruling and support for trans students
We are disappointed by the Supreme Court’s ruling that “the terms woman and sex in the Equality Act 2010 refer to a biological woman and biological sex.”
DUSA is a charity and as such, its governance and strategic direction are led by its Board of Trustees. The Executive make up the student representatives on the Board. Still, its membership also comprises up to six “Additional Trustees” who have been appointed due to their professional knowledge and experience.
It is very important when you are considering if these roles are right for you, you can have a look at the below-mentioned questions that can help you introspect if you can meet the needed criteria:
—> Can you work collaboratively with professional staff and student representatives?
—> Will you deliver campaigns, events and other activities which improve the lives of students?
—> Are you a hardworking individual who is committed to improving the student experience?
—> Are you adaptable and willing to respond to changing and challenging situations?
—> Can you work and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of partners and balance priorities and opinions to achieve positive outcomes?
—> Can you put personal opinions and views aside and act in the best interest of DUSA as a charity?
—> Are you willing to work outside regular hours?
—> Can you effectively represent DUSA and the students you will serve to local and national stakeholders?
You can nominate yourself for the following roles based on your interest and commitment level:
