It has been brought to recent light that our very own Mark Donnelly, who is also our longest-serving member of staff, has an incredible story about his time competing in the Special Olympics around the world.
Mark, who works within our facilities team, first represented Scotland in the 1989 National Games, which was held in Leicester. Mark successfully bagged himself a silver medal. He then went on to compete in the 1990 European Special Olympic Summer Games, which was held in Strathclyde. Mark successfully finished with a bronze and silver medal playing Basketball.
The following year Mark found himself representing Great Britain in the International Summer Special Olympic Games, held in USA Minneapolis. Mark successfully bagged Team GB a silver medal.
These are incredible achievements that Mark should be hugely proud of – as the whole team at DUSA will certainly be. Not only that, but Mark is the longest-serving member of our team, with him joining DUSA in 1991 (32 years) and that in itself is another huge accomplishment that he and all of us should recognise!!
Cameron was the School President of Social Sciences and Law during 2021-22, whilst also serving as Vice Chair of the Student Representative Council. He previously led the law and mooting societies before adopting more senior roles at a university level.
