Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) exists to serve the students it represents. We have an acclaimed reputation for the delivery of student experience, acknowledged by ranking top in Scotland in the National Student Survey over the past few years.
DUSA is seeking to appoint someone who is committed to the Students’ Association and its values to serve as a Non-Executive Member on our Board of Trustees. This vacancy provides a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future vision and strategic direction of DUSA through effective leadership, good governance and maximising opportunities.
The ideal member would:
- Be receptive to student leadership & democracy
- Have passion, commitment & skills to help us in our future development

- Enjoy working with highly motivated students providing advice, guidance & support
- An understanding of the 16 – 24 year old market
- Attend Board of Trustee meetings 6 – 8 times a year (normally evenings)

We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to join the Bars supervisory team at the Union. We run two busy bar venues which are food and coffee led during daytime hours and two night clubs which reach their capacity of +1500 people 3 nights per week. We are looking for a candidate who can inspire and motivate a large team of young students with their ability to think outside the box.
Your role will involve
- Assist in marketing campaigns to drive footfall and revenue
- High front of house profile during routine and key operating times
- Ability to motivate & lead a large team
- Daily management of key duties
- Running training sessions
- Experience in mixology
- Knowledge of health & safety
- All aspects of cash and stock control
You will work on a shift system which will include day-time, night-time and weekends.
We offer flexible working arrangements, with 28 days paid annual leave.

STUDENT VOICE SUPPORT OFFICER
£7.50 per hour
(Fixed term – 8th January 2018 to 30th March 2018)
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about ensuring the Student Voice is heard clearly throughout the University of Dundee.
DUSA and UoD have worked in partnership to create 5 new positions – 2 of which are to be piloted in semester 2 – that will make the student voice within the University’s Schools louder than ever before. Successful candidates will work with School Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Class Reps and School staff to ensure the representation structure works to its full potential.
This job is part time working between 8 and 10 hours a week. Candidates have to currently be studying at the University of Dundee and have had experience in representation either within DUSA, the University or externally with groups such as school councils or the Scottish Youth Parliament. Also, candidates should not currently be members of the Student Representative Council.
