Festival Staff

Availability Saturday 18 – Saturday 25 September 2021 (excluding Wednesday 22)

Salary £9.50 per hour

We have an exciting opportunity for individuals to work within our operations with the follow departments during our Freshers Festival:

  • Bar Staff
  • Security and Stewarding
  • Ticketing Staff

We are looking for a confident and outgoing candidate who can deliver high levels of customer service, with the ability to work flexible hours. Previous experience and customer service experience is desirable, but we can provide training and skills in this role.

Shifts will be around 6 hours long and expected working hours will be from approximately 10pm – 4am.

Student Experience Team

Up to 20 hours per week

We have a reputation as one of the top students’ unions in Scotland for the sixth consecutive year and one of the top five in the UK. Talent, passion and commitment from our dedicated team of staff and students is vital to our success.

We currently have vacancies for student roles with our Operations team. This will involve opportunities to work throughout our facilities, including bar/café roles, stewarding and customer safety, catering and venue support.

Sous Chef

40 hours per week

£23,500 per annum

Dundee University Students’ Association (DUSA) is a charitable organisation whose core purpose is to provide support to students as well as enhance the overall student experience. We have our culture at the heart of all we do to ensure that all staff and students are treated with dignity and respect, as well as provided with the ability to develop new and existing skills.

Working within a multi-site operation, this role is to supervise the production and delivery of our catering operation for various outlets

You should demonstrate a passion for food, presentation and service which is equalled with supervisory skills. You embrace change positively and are keen to create new dishes and concepts.

In addition to our day to day catering, we also offer function and banqueting catering for academic and corporate functions.

The successful applicant should have a formal catering based qualification with at least 3 years relevant experience with some gained at a supervisory level. Food Hygiene training to level 2 and knowledge of HACCP process is important for this role.

Hours are 40 per week but will include some evening and weekend working on a rota basis.

Food & Beverage Coordinator

40 hours per week

DUSA Food and Beverage is one of the key operational departments providing top quality coffee, food and drink to students and University staff.

We are currently recruiting for a Food & Beverage Co-ordinator to join the F&B Team.

Duties include assisting with the planning and delivery of functions and events within the Food and Beverage department and administration support to the F & B Team.

Applicants should have some experience within hospitality and strong administrative skills, be able to work in a team and have good communication skills.

Bar Supervisor

We are currently recruiting for a Bar Supervisor to join the Bar Team.

Duties include overseeing the day-to-day operation and supervising and managing staff.

Catering Assistant

Duties are varied and will include food preparation, service and delivery as well as maintaining high standards of cleaning and hygiene in all areas.
