Plain White Tees is the perfect way to make new friends fast. Quite literally there is no event more perfectly suited for Freshers’ Week. Like the last day of school, the main idea of the Plain White Tees is to tag people’s t-shirts. As many t-shirts as possible. Don’t worry if you’re shy; printed on the back of your t-shirt are ten challenges that will help break the ice and you’ll soon find yourself speaking to everyone you possibly can.
Why is this so much fun? The psychologists amongst you will theorise that “students, like all human beings, aspire to a common identity and social inclusion”. A simpler explanation is that you are going to meet more new friends tonight than ever before in a shorter space of time than you likely ever will again.
Plain White Tees is all about fun and joining together. The starting point for this will be your Skint t-shirt.
Most of you will receive a free Skint t-shirt because it comes as part of your Black Card package.
For those without a Black Card, Skint t-shirts can be purchased in advance for £6 from The Union Reception or the Premier Shop.
Wearing a Skint t-shirt isn’t compulsory; you could save yourself a few pounds by sporting one of your Dad’s old vests for example, but deep down, you know that it’s not going to feel the same on the night.
