If you wanted a TV channel to come and organise a massive party at your Freshers’ Week which one would you ask? BBC1? Probably not, unless your idea of a good time is an EastEnders style knees-up around the old “Joanna”. BBC2? Well, who wants to see James May DJing? You’d be better off asking your Dad. ITV may be better – and here at The Union we have been known to host the odd X Factor party (or two) but organising a full-on club night? A million percent NO! We could go on but we suspect by now you’ve already got the picture. But what about MTV? Well that’s a different matter – the number 1 music network in the UK – the home of Geordie Shore – howay man, let’s get on it like a car bonnet!!!

Launched in 2013, Club MTV is a bespoke clubbing experiencethat has travelled the length and breadth of the UK hosting club nights in venues ranging from student unions to major festivals. In the process they have worked with all the major players in dance music such as Sigma, Example, Martin Garrix, Sub Focus, Katy B – the list is endless. Club MTV isbrought right to your doorstep by the same people who deliver the MTV Europe Music Awards and hosted by the DJ/MC team, R3wire and Varski.

Already respected for their excellent work at clubbing superbrand, Ministry of Sound, R3wire and Varski have toured all over the globe fronting both MoS’s World Tours and its own student brand, Unitrash. With an excellent understanding of the student demographic, R3wire and Varski’s music policy will be an eclectic mix of credible and current anthems that will appeal to fans of all MTV’s genre specific channels.

These two nutters know how to party – it’s what they do for a job. However just to ensure that it all goes-off on the night, they bring loads of club décor and tons of give-aways. So it will be of no surprise when we tell you that Club MTV is usually the busiest party of Freshers Week. However we’ll leave the last words to R3wire himself: “DJing and producing music has always been my passion from a young age… I always aim to innovate and break boundaries whilst keeping the essence of my own unique sound…Expect nothing less than 110% from me always.”
