Student Fundraiser of the Year: Scott Quinn
We are over the moon to discover that the National Student Fundraising Association (NaFSA) has shortlisted DUSA Representatives in partnership with RAG Dundee, for TWO award categories in their annual awards!
In total across the year, Scott has led RAG Dundee to raise approximately £11,700 for our charity partner Dundee Foodbank, including £1500 raised during the JAM 55 Hour Radio Marathon.
Raised for Dundee Foodbank
We’ve put in an enormous amount of work this year to elevate RAG Dundee to the national standard. We’ve grown relationships in the Dundee community and beyond and raised a total to be proud of along the way. This is the first time RAG Dundee will attend the NaSFA Awards; it’s amazing to be shortlisted!
Collaboration of the Year: RAG Dundee x JAM 55 Hour Radio Marathon
On the 19th -21st October 2018 DUSA’s Student Media ran a 55 hour continuous radio broadcast in aid of our RAG charity partner Dundee Foodbank.
A core team of five presenters and various supporters helped bring the JAM packed schedule to life. Viewers were treated to a range of gameshow segments, local and upcoming musical talent and delirious 4am chats on Facebook live. The marathon was organised by our 2018/19 JAM Radio Station Manager and product design student Ewan McDonald in collaboration with RAG Dundee.
Raised by JAM Radio Marathon
The Radio Marathon was one of my favourite experiences as Station Manager as it was a pleasure to organise with my team and the DUSA Executive. I’m ecstatic at the news of 55 being nominated for the collaboration award because without the many people involved from all areas of DUSA, it wouldn’t be nearly as successful in raising money or awareness for RAG.
