Vice President Student Welfare By Election!

18th November 2009 4:27 pm

VICE PRESIDENT OF WELFARE BY ELECTION

Following our campaign for candidates for the Vice President Student Welfare By-election, 2 students have put their names forward for the post. Stepping into the ring we have Nadine Miyasar and Jonny Kerr.

As part of the nomination process we asked a series of questions and asked each candidate to write an election statement promoting themselves and why they deserve the position. Now it is up to you, the student body to vote in who you think is most suitable for the post.

So, read all about them, their policies, and their understanding of what it means to be on the Student Executive; representing the students, and promoting student welfare. Then, this Friday (Nov 20th) make your vote count. Polls open 9am and will close by 5pm. You can vote anywhere in the world as long as you have access to the internet; simply log onto MyDundee and click on the new ‘Eday’ tab and then just make your first and second choice for the position.

But what does the VPSW do?

The VPSW has the responsibility for student welfare issues and the provisions of the relevant DUSA services.

The VPSW has responsibility for:

  • The activities of the Student Welfare and Campaigns (SWAC) services;
  • Developing a student welfare strategy;

  • Liaising with Student Services.
  • The candidates took part in hustings on Monday night, here are their speeches:
