SRC Nominations go live

1st September 2010 1:23 pm

This September 23rd and 24th Dundee students will elect their new Student Representative Council. The SRC is one of the highest levels of student representation within the University and it acts on big issues affecting students on campus. For more information on exactly what they do visit the SRC section under Representation on this website.

Today SRC nominations go live and for the first time ever you have an opportunity to nominate yourself for election online. Getting involved and standing for election to the SRC is an exciting way to make a difference on campus and boost your CV. We have 15 positions to elect and nominating yourself couldn’t be easier.

There are two ways of getting involved this year. You can come into the DUSA offices on Level 4 of the Union building and pick up a nomination pack from Deputy President Chris Browne or Executive Support Anne Marie Bottoms. Alternatively you can go through this whole process online. Simply click here to visit our SRC elections page and it will take you through the whole process. Here you can find out what SRC is, what the elections are all about, view a nomination pack and fill in an online form to submit yourself as a candidate.

All you need is the support of two matriculated students to propose and second your nomination, a 100 word statement highlighting why you are suited to the position you are running for (to be used on all SRC election publicity) and an electronic passport style photograph of yourself.

The DUSA Executive is excited at the prospect of a whole new set of student representatives making up this year’s SRC. So step up and get involved. Make a difference on campus and hold your Student Association to account – make sure DUSA is run by and for you, the students.
