Martin Gribbon (purveyor of joy and good will) is standing for Vice President of Communications of DUSA for the 08/09 session.

Martin Gribbon would like to be the next VPC for DUSA.

WHO IS MARTIN GRIBBON?

Martin Gribbon noticed the following things as a student and a DUSA employee:

• Societies are frustrated (Martin Gribbon experienced said frustration) due to the following:

• The executive (generally speaking) do not know what facilities DUSA can offer students.

• 'The Magdalen' does not characterise student life in Dundee. Don't get Martin Gribbon wrong, it has lovely articles and reviews but very few are actually about the university or even Dundee. 'The Magdalen' presents a real opportunity to cater to our egos. it currently does not show off our talents.

• Millions of Irish folk are having to go elsewhere (Malones) to watch their counties play in the All-Ireland Championship, which is a big deal to us lot....and there are a lot of us.

• Improve the emphasis on live music events within the union. particularly by encouraging local acts to play.

• Improve communications between societies, the executive and DUSA staff.

• Provide a forum to showcase student talent (art work, sports achievements and reviews, live music)

• Include GAA in the unions live sports schedule.

• Improve 'The Magdalen' in a way that demonstrates student talent and highlights local issues.

• Other good and desirable acts.
